The Rockin’ ‘80’s is the only 80s show with a mix of the best rock from the decade of excess, plus “oh wow” tracks that add spice to the weekly line up. The show features rarities from the ‘80s “Lost and Found”, an ‘80s “Two-Fer,” spotlighting two contrasting songs from one band played back to back, and much more. (OCTOBER 2006) – Envision Radio Networks is pleased to announce the induction of Envision Radio Networks President and CEO Danno Wolkoff into the Beachwood High School 2006 Gallery of Success. Wolkoff is a 1982 graduate of Beachwood High School.
The Beachwood High School Gallery of Success recognizes those whose career contributions have benefited others.
Wolkoff commented, “I am truly honored to be inducted into the Beachwood Gallery of Success where there are so many other successful and accomplished people. To be recognized for my work in radio is the best compliment of all.”
Envision Radio Networks is the brainchild of Mr. Wolkoff and his wife, Laura Orkin Wolkoff ’82. Mr. Wolkoff entered Syracuse University in 1982 with dreams of studying communication and eventually becoming a director and producer of TV commercials. While studying at the Newhouse School of Communication, he wrote, directed and produced student television shows and served as a morning radio host.
Upon his graduation in 1986, Mr. Wolkoff set off for New York City armed with no job offers, only his determination, creativity and talent. He landed at the start-up company MJI Broadcasting and as a leader of the affiliate relations and sales force, quickly expanded business and growth.
Six years later, Mr. Wolkoff developed a business concept for MJI that would enable him to return to Cleveland and raise his growing family here. His concept of satellite sales offices expanded the company nationwide. After MJI was sold to Clear Channel in 2000, Mr. Wolkoff was named vice president of affiliate relations for Premiere Radio Networks and three years later, struck out on his own to launch Envision.
Mr. Wolkoff also serves as chairman of the board for the Conclave Learning Conference, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of broadcasting and related industries to better serve the public interest.
